Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some of the most common questions we receive at Miriam Faith Floral Design about arrangements for events & weddings and how much wedding flowers cost.

Who do I need to provide flowers for at my wedding?

First, you will want a special bouquet for the bride, as well as bouquets for all your bridesmaids and buttonholes for the groom and all the groomsmen and ushers. Next, you’ll want corsages and buttonholes for family members, including parents, grandparents, godparents and siblings. You’ll also want to consider flowers for anyone else who is a participant in your ceremony, including flower girls and page boys. Depending on the style of the wedding dress, the bride may choose flowers for her hair or hairpieces for bridesmaids or flower girls.

After you have taken care of the people in your wedding party, you can decide on other arrangements for your ceremony and reception venues, such as flowers for the aisle, arches, centrepieces, cake, top table arrangements, and other floral accents. Our team at Miriam Faith will help you make sure you don’t miss anything!

Who should I bring with me to my wedding flower consultation WITH Miriam Faith?

Typically, we like to meet the couple at the first consultation to get a better understanding of your joint wedding day vision. You may wish to bring other family members  with you to help consider ideas and provide feedback. In general, we don’t recommend bringing a large group with you as consultations go more smoothly with fewer people attending.

What should I expect at my wedding flower consultation?

Prior to your initial consultation with Miriam Faith, we recommend that you complete and submit our wedding inquiry form to help answer basic questions about your wedding day needs, venue and flower budget.

Many brides bring along photos from Pinterest, magazines or wedding websites to give us an idea of what they envision for their wedding. Some brides don’t have any pre-formed ideas, and that is fine – we can help guide you with photos and flowers that we have available. If you have photos of colours, flowers and bouquets that you like, please feel free to email them to us in advance or bring them to your consultation!

How are wedding flower costs calculated?

Wedding flower costs are based on a number of factors. Many people think that seasonality is the main factor. Actually, the driving force is usually the ratio of blooms to foliage and the size of arrangements. At Miriam Faith, we use a high stem count to present a lush and full finish from every breathtaking angle. In addition, the size of each arrangement or bouquet must be considered as larger displays require more blooms, more time to create and can complicate logistics. Most people don’t know that wholesale flowers are supplied through auction less than a week before your event, and therefore the price Miriam Faith is charged is not guaranteed in advance.

The cost and availability of each stem does vary according to the time of year. For example, lilacs in August will cost more than lilacs in May, and it’s very hard to find peonies in winter. You should also consider the hire of vases, urns, arches, candles and other props when thinking about your flower budget. Other costs like labour and consumable supplies – such as wire, ribbon and oasis foam must also be accounted more.

Miriam Faith Floral Design will carefully build a quote for your wedding flower costs with all these things in mind. Contact us now to speak about your event and check our availability.

How far in advance should I book my wedding flowers or event arrangements?

It is never too soon to contact us! In general, we recommend that you begin planning at least 6-12 months before a wedding or any event requiring multiple flower arrangements. As a boutique designer, we limit the number of events and weddings we do each season so that we can offer our clients the highest level of service and attention, and therefore our calendar books up quite quickly. Contact us now to speak about your event and check our availability for your wedding flowers or event decoration.

What venues do you work with? Are you familiar with my wedding or event location?

Miriam Faith Floral Design has a large network of wedding vendors and suppliers with whom we are in contact or have worked with before. We work with too many venues to list them individually here – there are countless event locations within London alone – but we are comfortable working in locations across Central London and Greater London, Surrey, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, the home counties and beyond. If we haven’t worked with your specific venue before, then we will typically arrange a site visit to understand the space and make recommendations for the perfect arrangements.

We always work closely with event/venue coordinators so that you never need to worry about logistics leading up to or on your big day. For a glimpse of some of the places we have worked, check out our latest blog posts

Can you work with my other vendors (cake decorator, hairstylist, reception hall, etc.)?

Yes, we will happily coordinate flower arrangement delivery and set-up with other vendors. If you have special requirements then please get in touch so that we can understand your needs.
